OUTSMART is designed with a privacy-first approach — minimal data collection and no traditional sign-up. OUTSMART is a product of Towson International Limited.
OUTSMART is designed to be played without creating a user account.
When you first open the app, we automatically create an anonymous identifier on your device (via Firebase Authentication) so we can attribute your leaderboard entry and moderation actions to a single device without ever asking for an email, name, or login. You are not asked to register and we cannot identify you personally from this identifier alone.
If you choose to join the leaderboard, you additionally provide a display name (chosen by you). This name, along with your game stats (points, wins, total games played), your subscription status, and your country code are stored on our servers to power the leaderboard.
Your country is detected automatically on first launch using your IP address via a third-party service (ipapi.co). Only the two-letter country code (e.g. "KE") is stored — your full IP address is not retained by us.
If you report another player's leaderboard name as inappropriate, we store the reported name, your anonymous identifier, the reason code, and a timestamp. We use this information only for moderation purposes.
All other gameplay data (settings, streak, daily challenge progress, hint usage, ad history) is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers.
OUTSMART shows ads powered by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, including your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), device information, and coarse location.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another regulated region, we show Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form on first launch. You may grant or refuse consent for personalised advertising at that point. If you refuse, ads are still served but are not personalised.
You can change your ad consent choice at any time by opening Settings and tapping "Privacy Options".
On iOS, we request permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before any cross-app tracking occurs. If you decline, your device's advertising identifier is not shared with Google for tracking purposes, and ads remain non-personalised.

OUTSMART can send you local notifications (for example, to remind you about your daily challenge or unbroken streak). All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by your device — we do not send push notifications from our servers.
We request notification permission only after you take an action that benefits from notifications, such as joining the leaderboard. You can revoke this permission at any time from your device's system settings.
To keep the leaderboard family-friendly, display names are screened against a multilingual blocklist (covering English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Swahili, Russian, and impersonation terms) before being accepted. Names that match the blocklist are rejected on your device and never reach our servers.
We use the information described above to:
We do not use your information for any other purpose.
We do not sell your personal data.
Leaderboard data (display name, points, wins, country, subscription status) is visible to other players in the app.
We share data with Google (AdMob, Firebase Authentication, and Firestore) and RevenueCat to operate advertising, leaderboard, and subscription services. Their respective privacy policies apply to their handling of this data.
Leaderboard entries remain until you delete your entry or request removal by contacting us. Moderation report records are retained while the reported account remains active and may be reviewed by us at any time. Device-only data is cleared when you uninstall the app.
We take reasonable measures to protect information. Leaderboard data is stored in Google Firestore with standard security controls, server-side schema validation, and rate limits. No system can guarantee absolute security.
OUTSMART is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
